The Musical Box #01: Spirit "Dynamic" Tracks

The Musical Box is a spin-off of the Treasure Chest, a section of PodQuest written by Sandro Tomasetti. The Musical Box is a column that discusses memorable and special moments of games (similar to Treasure Chest), with particular focus on music.

Very special thanks to Gilliard Lopes and Sandro Tomasetti for this opportunity. Extra special thanks to Rafael Martins (sommastudio) for the title image.

You can't talk about music for videogames without mentioning one of the best franchises ever made in this industry: The Legend of Zelda. This series is known for its memorable and amazing music, mainly created by Japanese composer Koji Kondo, who also composed the undeniably classic tunes of Super Mario Bros. and many other Nintendo masterpieces.

For this particular edition of The Musical Box, I chose a recent game from the franchise: Spirit Tracks, released in December 2009 for the Nintendo DS.

Treasure Chest #07: Dog attack Remade!

Hello again gamers! Welcome to another “Treasure Chest”. Always remembering, this series is based on an ongoing series from Destructoid, “The Memory Card” by Chad Concelmo.

Again I want to thank: Rafael Martins, Gilliard Lopes, Luise Braunsperger and Heloísa Pintarelli!! Thank you all!!

Well... in the last episode I broke my promise to never repeat moments from “Memory Card”, but as I did it once, I guess twice won’t kill. But, this time we will have a little twist on the moment (which makes this moment almost a new one, and probably all my babbling here is unnecessary). I’m picking a moment form a game that has been remade. The twist here: The moment itself has also been remade. The original moment, written on Destructoid can be found here.

The game I’m talking about in none other than Resident Evil, the first game to truly scare people.

Treasure Chest #06: Fighting with words

Hello again gamers! Welcome to another “Treasure Chest”. Always remembering, this series is based on an ongoing series from Destructoid, “The Memory Card” by Chad Concelmo.

Again I want to thank: João Marcelo Beraldo, Rafael Martins, Gilliard Lopes, Luise Braunsperger and Heloísa Pintarelli!! Thank you all!!

I know I promised to make only new moments when compared to the ones made on Destructoid’s Memory Card. The moment I’m gonna talk today was already done, you can read it here, but this moment was so significant to me that I will break my promise... sorry...

The game we are talking about probably build the foundations of my bizarre humour. And note that humour is a hard thing to do on videogames, but the Monkey Island series just hit my sweet spot. The first step on this wonderful series gives us one of the most innovative fighting sequences of all time. Welcome to The Secret of Monkey Island.

PodQuest #30: Plantão do PodQuest
